Questions?
1 / Who is this event intended for?
"Christian Creatives"--AKA, Christians who enjoy creativity.
All types: writers, actors, artists, nerds, poets, filmmakers, dancers, history buffs, gardeners, deep thinkers, photographers, crafters, collectors, musicians–and more.
Skill-Level: You don't have to be a professional or even have dreams of becoming one--but if you do, that's great too!
Age: This event is mostly geared for young adults, but people of all ages can attend (families are welcome; younger children should be attended by an adult).
2 / What Does Tov-Branches MeaN?
"Tov" is a Hebrew word that means "Good"; but not just good; it's something that has aesthetic beauty, functional quality, and moral excellence. It's something that brings life.
We want to be "Tov Branches" in the Tree of Tales, using Tov Creativity to create a more Tov world.
Check out "The Tov Tree" page to learn more.
3 / What about Lodging and meals?
Lodging is not provided, as most of the community being invited is local, and the event is free.
Supper is provided, with a firepit dinner on Friday and a gourmet meal on Saturday. If coming from out of town, plan to pack a breakfast and lunch for each day or eat out.
4 / WHAT'S THE FANTASY LARP ADVENTURE?
This a hyper-nerdy and sophisticated activity for theatrical and playful souls, bringing you into an imaginary story that takes place in real time with real people, in a real story. Participants take on the role of their characters, improvising all of their own actions and dialogue. Some simple rules exist to keep things fair, as participants play their characters--navigating various quests. This is not a tabletop game, this is real-time adventure in the woods, with battles simulated with safe but real-looking foam weapons. So yeah, the epic version of playing pretend for adults. ;)
LARP stands for Live Action Role Play, and has been enjoyed by the nerd minority for several decades. Sadly, some LARPs can be a little sketch, so it's a really exciting thing to try to redeem this impactful form of collaborative story to be enjoyed in a Christ-honoring way as Christians. My friends and I have had some epic, beautiful and transformative adventures together.
We hope you will join us for this adventure, written and designed by April Rees, as we enter Fe'Aernwood forest, uncover its secrets and meet its dangers.

5 /do i have to participate in all the activities?
Not at all! Feel free to participate in what sounds fun to you. You are also welcome to come to part of the event only, if you wish.

4 / how can i showcase my work?
There are several ways to share your work, whether you are an aspiring professional or just want to show what you do for fun. 1) You can sign up to have a personal display table, where you can show-off your creative endeavors. 2) You can participate in the Stage Talent Showcase, by either performing yourself onstage with a dramatic piece, song or dance, or giving us a file to show a video, pictures, audio or musical piece, etc. 3) You can also share your creative vision to get feedback and prayer. Let us know your ideas and we'll be excited to work with you! 4) You can even send us your work for us to showcase for you if you aren't able to make it to the event!

7 / is this part of a church or ministry?
No, this is entirely a grassroots, informal shindig being put together by friends and family.
Our desire is to keep this as inter-denominational as possible, within the bounds of basic Biblical Christianity.
Feel free to contact us if you have questions.
8 / what will we be doing for worship on sunday?
Weather-permitting, we plan to visit a local mountain park, take a short hike to the top, and have our own little service up there. Some of the songs and Scripture will be geared towards the topics of the event and we will pray for God to use us and our gifts for his glory.
9 / what happens after the event? how do i stay involved?
If participants are interested, they can join an online Discord Server to facilitate further connection and networking. Besides that, it's up to the participants to continue the connections made, hopefully leading to more creative, collaborative and God-honoring projects.
